How to Make Healthy Changes that STICK

Building new habits and making positive changes in your life can be difficult. There’s no way around it. It’s not easy to change your life around. It’s not easy to create new healthy habits and break old bad habits. Let’s be clear, there is not an EASY way to make changes. There’s not a fad diet or a “trick” to this health and wellness thing. There is consistency. Constantly making healthier decisions and choices over time will lead to long term success. To consistently make better habits and decisions, one must first find a way to hold yourself accountable. Accountability steps in when temptation pulls you to act in a way that does not align with your goals.

ACCOUNTABILITY 101

There are different ways that you can be held accountable. The determining factors are your preference (1-on-1 or group), your schedule, and your budget. See the options below.

Hiring a Personal Coach : Find someone to hold you accountable. 

This is the gold standard of accountability. Hiring a personal trainer, a personal nutrition coach or a personal mindset coach offers the most flexibility, accountability, and the best prescription for your goals. This route will lead you to success for sure but it also requires the most investment.

Joining a small group with similar goals : Find a group to hold you accountable. 

Small groups can hold you accountable by simply peer encouragement. When you find a community of like-minded folks that are invested in your health you have your own cheering squad. The community will not only make you want to show up but hold you accountable if you aren’t showing up. This is a great option if you enjoy a social setting and you are on a budget.
